How many degrees, plus or minus, can the PTL cover in Radar Search/Track?

+/- 30

+/- 45

+/- 90

+/- 60

Azimuth coverage in Radar Search/Track is limited to a ±60-degree window. The PTL can search and maintain track for targets anywhere up to 60 degrees to either side of its pointing direction, giving a total of 120 degrees of coverage. This keeps the tracking within the system’s scanning limits while still allowing rapid response as targets move within that sector. Smaller angles would restrict the field of view and risk losing track, while a ±90-degree window would exceed the RAT’s designed envelope and require repositioning or alternate sensors. So, the PTL’s coverage is ±60 degrees.
